A market characterized by rising prices is known as a bull market.
When market. Instrument or sector experiences an upward trend, then it is generally referred to a bull market.
With the usage of term bull market in any strong market activity, it is mostly used in the financial markets when an asset price in the market increases by 20% or more than its previously recorded low point.
When investors are optimistic about the performance of the future of an asset or the overall market indexes, then a rise in the bull market is seen.
While a 20% increase in market prices is often regarded as the start of a bullish trend, most signs of an impending bull market are not that clear.

The opposite of a bull market is a bear market, which takes place when investors are feeling pessimistic.
Decline in the prices (bearish trend) gives a negative sentiment of the market and traders try to sell more and more because of lack of confidence, causing a further decrease in prices and often what is known as capitulation.
